My original stories take children on a journey to discover the mystery behind the missing gold, follow the trail to the orchard apples and help Ursula put the stars back in the sky. Through the use of story-boxes I have created mini mysteries that engage children, entertaining them as they learn, inspiring imagination and creativity. The stories are written for 3 - 8 year olds and can be adapted to suit particular audiences and settings. Some examples of events I can attend are schools, fairs, community gatherings, museums, libraries, weddings and childrens' parties. I am DBS checked and have public liability insurance. Each story is 20 -30 minutes long and allows the children to participate in the adventure and solve the mystery. After the children get to decorate their own certificate to show they solved the mystery. I can also add mini stories and fables to the programme and simple craft projects to suit the age range of the audience. I'd love to discuss the possibilities for adding mini mystery to your event and I look forward to hearing from you. A little more about me: My name is Dawn Nelson but you call me DD. I started writing at the age of six. I had a story to tell. Aliens had landed on Wimbledon Common and it was my job to teach them about the animals that lived there. The badger, the fox, the rabbit and the bird all featured in my story. This is where my passion for storytelling began. As an author of cosy crime novels, I weave facts into my stories to entertain and inform in the true tradition of detective ficiton. I love analogies and allegorical stories and so it was natural that I began children's storytelling.
