We'd love to come and celebrate with you all and have ten years experience and energy to put into your event! If you wanted the music to kick off at around 7/730pm (we usually start the 'warm-up' with recorded music), then we would arrive around 5pm to load in and set up (or we can discuss a 'quickie' set-up as your room is being re-set for the evening if you are in the same room). And we usually play 2 x 1 hour live sets but also provide all music between (unless you have your own DJ) which is tailored completely to your favourite 'wish-list' of songs, so basically we keep the evening rolling seamlessly between our live music and the recorded 'disco breaks'. We take care of 'business', while you get on with relaxing & enjoying yourself. Once we've agreed on times in advance, you can totally relax & leave the entertainment to us - you won't need to check-up, nudge or worry when we'll be on - our experience & total professionalism mean you can leave the evening in our hands (& of course if things are running late - as they inevitably do, we'll always go with the flow!) Our main band is usually our 8 piece and we can of course go bigger for a real red carpet performance, depending on your budget, and occasionally we can also condense down & 'lop off' a musician (this is more likely on 'off peak' days or last minute bookings) - it's best to let us know what you'd like to spend & then I can let you know the biggest line-up we could provide within your bracket. And if we don't fit the budget, maybe I can suggest something else for you as we run a couple of other bands.We also have 2/3 fantastic breakdancers who we regularly work with as part of the team if that's of interest. These guys do all the 'wow' tricks, flips and moves to impress the crowd, but also dance in the crowd, get guests up, frolic around the floor and generally add a great energetic party vibe to the event & are lovely/smiley/impressive & a fun addition. They can work on the stage/floor and around the room. For London events they are £120 per person. Our fee includes all travel, set-up, full professional PA, great lighting for on the band and dance-floor, 2 x 1 hour live sets (or a single 1 hour & 45/50 mins straight through if this works better or if the evening is running late) & recorded music for the other times (by your request or just a general mix to please everyone that we have at the event). Lost In Music are a fully professional (and really cool!) live party band, comprising the absolute cream of British singers and musicians. They are perfect for all functions - corporate events, weddings, large festivals, birthdays, bar (and bat)-mitzvahs, theatres outdoor events, etc. They have an enormous set list (over 270 songs, and growing constantly! (see the website for a full list) and are hugely experienced (something of an understatement!) in playing all kinds of shows, all over the country and abroad. They are working constantly all over the UK and can incorporate many different (superbly put together) costumed themes into their show such as Abba, 1970's disco, Grease, 1980's, James Bond, School Disco, 1950's rock 'n' roll or Madonna. The band can be booked either as a function band (with or without one of these themed sets), or as a tribute band, playing only a particular theme. All of the sets consist of the same singers and musicians. Formats Lost In Music can be booked as a basic 6-piece band (male and female lead vocals, guitar / vocals, drums, keyboards / vocals, bass / vocals). The band numbers can be flexible though, depending on the function. An extra female singer can be added (to allow costume changes mid-set) or you could upgrade to the incredibly exciting 11-piece (adding an extra female singer, an extra male singer, and a brass section) - this big band is a fantastic spectacle with four lead singers and makes it possible for the band to perform costumes changes mid-set. For example, they could have two girls going off stage to change into an Abba costume while there are still two lead singers on stage whipping the audience up into a frenzy - the pace is relentless! USP There are lots of function bands around, some good, some not so good. So Lost In Music need a Unique Selling Point (USP) and it comes down to this - if you would like to book a band who stand still on stage whilst reading music, holding a pint, playing half-heartedly along to backing tracks and looking as though they would rather be somewhere else, then perhaps you need to look elsewhere. Lost In Music are a bunch of great* musicians that want to enjoy what they do - play fantastic party music to get your guests moving - and their enthusiasm is completely infectious. They produce layer upon layer of rich vocal harmonies (there are plenty of singers in the band, not just the lead vocalists) and there is lots of energy on the stage. Your dance floor will be full from beginning to end and your guests will still be talking about them in years to come. Organisation The band are managed by Kevin McCarthy who prides himself on his organisational skills - here is a musician (with a business background) who realises that, as much as this is a fun job for everyone, it is still a job that needs to run like clockwork. The Retros are a musical duo who sing & play popular hit songs from the last 60 years to raise money for CLIC Sargent; a merger of 2 former charities, Cancer & Leukaemia in Children and Sargent Cancer Care for Children and, occasionally other local children’s charities. The Retros do not charge or accept any fees or expenses (only refreshments while performing): All donations, including contributions from venues, are collected in official sealed cans which are opened & counted in the presence of a witness and a cheque for the full amount sent to the charity which provides acknowledgement certificates for forwarding to the venues.
