Echoes of the 80s provides an experienced and professional performance ideal for weddings, corporate functions, anniversarys and birthday celebrations, theme evenings, clubs, holiday parks, live music venues and more. In February 2012, Steve took part in the Canzoni D'Amore project with the legendary 1980s artist Boy George.  Along with a 40 strong choir and live orchestra, an EP was recorded in aid of Marie Curie Cancer Care. The new release will celebrate the great Italian ballads of the 60s – in particular, those that became English-version hits including Io Che Non Vivo (Senza Te), (Dusty Springfield’s You Don’t Have To Say) You Love Me, Il Mio Mondo (Cilla Black’s You’re My World) and La Vita (Shirley Bassey’s This Is My Life).  A talented front man and recording artiste Steve has years of experience with Rock n Roll Showbands including radio and television appearances (Sky Television) (BBCWM).Steve has played with Burt Weedon and Wee Willie Harris. He has also performed for Children in Need 1997, 1998 and 2000, BBC Radio and on the Beatles Stage at the Cavern Club in Liverpool. His musical career has also seen Steve travel across the UK with Rock n Roll Showbands as well as releasing several albums and Steve is now available as a solo artiste.   Steve's first solo project "A Tribute to the 1950s and 1960s" has received critical acclaim and continues to be a successful show played to audiences UK and worldwide.  In 2012 Steve launched a new tribute to the iconic era of the 1980s :“Echoes of the 80s”. Set times either 2 x 60 minutes or 3 x 45 minutes – Happy to discuss client requirements. Following near 20 years organising the Birmingham Guitar club (featuring up-coming artists, and the more famous Gordon Giltrap, John Renbourn, Barney Kessell, Birelli Lagren), collaborating with the then Jazz and Bell and pump Folk club hosting atits like Barbara Dickson, at the now demolished, Old Philipian’s, club once opposite Perrott’s Folly, Waterworks Rd, Edgbaston. The Folly being the inspiration for their CD Album, ‘Perrott’s Folly’ with title song of the same name written by band member Sandra Robinson, relating to its history. Their Folk/roots music club, established in Hopwas, provides a concert platform for local artistes, and professional guests too. Appearances have been over much of the Midlands, ten years of Birmingham’s Artsfest, ‘Folk afloat on Sam’s boat’, Gas St Basin, including the brilliant Fiddle and Bone venue now sadly closed, hailing a great loss to Birmingham’s live music scene. Claret made a main stage appearance too at Moseley Folk Festival in 2008.
