About us
I’m Alex Ranahan, a professional Conference MC, Awards Host and Corporate Event Presenter.
I help organisers bring the room to life, keep the programme moving and make sure the audience feels part of the event - not simply present in it.
I have hosted hundreds of live, virtual and hybrid corporate events and earned more than 500 five-star reviews. That experience has taught me that great hosting is not about making yourself the centre of attention. It is about setting the tone, supporting the speakers, connecting each part of the programme and giving the organiser confidence that the room is in safe hands.
My background in professional performance and interactive corporate events means I can read an audience, adapt quickly and create genuine energy without making participation feel forced or awkward.
My style is warm, quick-witted and dependable: corporate-safe without being stale, energetic without overpowering the room, and engaging without putting reluctant guests in the spotlight.
Before the event, I take time to understand your audience, objectives, speakers and running order. On the day, I work closely with you and the production team to keep everything joined up, respond calmly when plans change and help the event feel polished from the first welcome to the final close.
The result is an event that feels connected, confidently led and enjoyable for the people in the room - while you are free to focus on your guests and the bigger picture.
FAQ
What types of events do you host?
I host conferences, awards evenings, gala dinners, leadership events, company celebrations, team experiences and other live, virtual and hybrid corporate events.
What can you handle on the day?
I can welcome the audience, introduce speakers and award winners, conduct interviews, manage transitions, lead audience moments, keep the programme moving and close the event confidently.
How do you prepare for an event?
I take time to understand your audience, objectives, speakers, tone and running order. I then work closely with you and the production team so the event feels joined up rather than simply scripted.
Can you help with the script and running order?
Yes. I can work from a completed script or help shape introductions, transitions and key moments so they sound natural, serve the audience and support the flow of the event.
Can you adapt your style to our audience?
Absolutely. I tailor the tone, energy and level of interaction to suit your organisation and guests. The event can feel polished and formal, warm and conversational or lively and celebratory without becoming forced or overbearing.
How do you engage guests without making them uncomfortable?
I create opportunities for people to join in without forcing anyone into the spotlight. Both introverts and extroverts can feel involved in a way that feels natural to them.
What happens if timings or plans change?
Live events rarely run exactly to plan. I stay closely connected with the organiser and production team, adapt calmly and help keep the audience engaged while the programme is adjusted.
What do you need to provide an accurate quote?
Please share the date, venue, approximate timings, audience size and type of event. It also helps to know what you would like me to handle and whether the programme includes speakers, interviews, awards or audience interaction.
Do you travel outside London?
Yes. I am based in London and travel across the UK and internationally for suitable events. Any travel, accommodation or additional expenses will be agreed clearly before the booking is confirmed.
What happens if we would like to book you?
Once we have discussed the event and agreed the scope, I will provide a clear quote and booking agreement. From there, I will work with you on the audience, tone, running order and key details so you feel prepared and confident before the event begins.
What to expect
Before the event:
We will start with a focused conversation about your audience, objectives, tone, timings and what you need me to take ownership of.
I will review the running order, speakers and key moments, then help strengthen introductions and transitions where needed so everything feels clear, connected and properly prepared.
On the day:
I will arrive in good time to meet you and the production team, confirm any final changes and complete the necessary sound and stage checks.
From the first welcome to the final close, I will support your speakers, connect each part of the programme, read the room and keep the energy moving without making anything feel forced or overdone.
When plans change:
Live events rarely run exactly to plan.
I stay closely connected with you and the production team, adapt calmly and keep the audience engaged while timings, speakers or programme details are adjusted.
The result:
Your speakers feel supported. Your audience feels part of the event. The programme feels joined up and confidently led.
You are free to focus on your guests and the bigger picture, knowing the room is in safe hands.
