Having been "born in a trunk" to a showbusiness family and performing all his life, Andrew Van Buren is renowned for his showmanship. He is recognised as one of the most experienced, professional, and adaptable variety performers today, a gold star member of the Inner Magic Circle, and a member of the exclusive showbusiness organisation, The Grand Order of Water Rats. He tours worldwide with his principal assistant and partner, Allyson Ford, a trained dancer, appearing in venues from West End theatres to circuses and stadiums, intimate cabarets to luxury cruise liners. The Van Buren family style allows them to perform anywhere, specialising in performing while completely surrounded by the audience. Andrew's now-retired parents, Fred Van Buren and Greta, invented many unique illusions still featured in his shows. Over the years, Andrew has developed skills in trick cycling, juggling, escapology, and his famously exciting plate spinning with real plates, making him one of the top plate spinners globally. He combines these skills into his illusions, creating unique and successful variety show packages. He is not just a magician and illusionist, but also a juggler, plate spinner, trick cyclist, showman, and above all, an entertainer. Recent and notable Van Buren projects have included: - Van Buren's Magic Around the World at Blackpool Tower Circus, a mammoth fully themed illusion spectacular with a cast of 24 performers, all illusions, costumes, and music themed to a journey around the world, performed with the audience watching from all around and every angle. - Regular performances in the Middle East, most recently starring in the House of Illusions Spiegeltent dinner cabaret show in Dubai, UAE, and the Circus of Aladdin in Sharjah, UAE. - A string of repeated performances before British Royalty through to Arabian Sheiks. - Repeated TV appearances including in the UK: Blue Peter, The Generation Game, The Ant & Dec Show, DJ Judge Jules Spin Cities, Cilla Black’s Moment of Truth, Noel Edmonds Telly Years, CBBC Best of Friends, The Slammer, and The Money Programme. Performances include The Brit Awards, The Commonwealth Games, The Royal Albert Hall, West End theatres, and representing Great Britain at World Expo Spain by Royal Command before HRH Prince Charles.
