For many years, Martin has been one of the most popular callers for ceilidhs and barn dances, starting in the Northern Home Counties and now in North Wales. He is currently the regular caller with a busy North Wales ceilidh band and occasionally calls for other bands. Martin also performs as a duo with his partner, Jan, for smaller functions. If you are thinking of organising a ceilidh, barn dance, or twmpath, there is nothing better than a live band to play the music. However, I understand that this might not always be possible due to budget, time, or space constraints. Therefore, I am happy to offer a smaller, more cost-effective service to address this. I have curated a collection of recorded music by some of the best ceilidh and folk bands in the country, specifically chosen for the dances in my repertoire. These are played through a professional PA system, providing the effect of a live band without the band. You will still have me as the caller, equipped with a radio microphone to call from anywhere in the room. As an award-winning Town Crier, I don't always need a microphone! Alternatively, you can have just me and my squeezebox, allowing for a barn dance or ceilidh party almost anywhere. I can also add one or two more family musicians for a fuller sound. My emphasis is on having fun, getting everyone to join in, and having a party!
