OnMedics provides professional freelance medical cover for events across the UK, delivered directly by me, Ryan Jones.
When you book OnMedics, you are not booking through an agency or large staffing company. You deal directly with me from the initial enquiry through to the event itself, giving you a consistent point of contact and certainty over who will actually be attending.
I hold FREC 4 and Immediate Life Support (ILS) qualifications, allowing me to provide a broader level of clinical assessment, treatment and emergency care than would normally be expected from basic first-aid-only provision.
I attend with a comprehensive range of professional medical equipment sourced from reputable manufacturers. Depending on the requirements of the event and within my scope of practice, this includes ILS and resuscitation equipment, AED, trauma equipment, burns and wound care, airway and breathing equipment, medical gases, patient assessment equipment and appropriate emergency medicines.
My quotations are designed to be straightforward and competitive. As an independent freelancer, I have significantly lower overheads than larger agencies and providers. My standard quote includes my time, medical equipment, vehicle, mileage, travel, insurance and routine clinical documentation, so clients receive a clear all-inclusive price rather than a basic rate followed by routine extras.
Cover is available for both planned events and short-notice requirements, subject to availability. Every quotation is tailored to the location, event type, expected attendance and level of risk rather than using a one-size-fits-all price.

Freelance Medic – Standard Event Cover
These are indicative rates for standard, lower-risk event medical cover. All prices include my attendance, medical equipment, vehicle, routine consumables, insurance and local travel. Final pricing may vary depending on location, event risk, attendance and specific requirements. Higher-risk and short-notice bookings are quoted individually and require a 50% upfront payment to secure the booking.
What we offer
Professional on-site medical cover tailored to your event.
Provision can include patient assessment and treatment, first aid and minor injury management, emergency response, ILS capability, AED provision, trauma and burns care, medical gases, clinical observations, emergency medicines within scope, patient documentation and liaison with NHS emergency services where escalation is required.
I bring my own equipment and vehicle, allowing me to arrive ready to operate without expecting the organiser to supply routine medical equipment.
What to expect
Before confirming your booking, I will review the information available about your event and may ask about attendance, timings, activities, alcohol, venue access, known hazards and existing emergency arrangements.
This allows me to make sure the proposed level of cover is suitable for the actual event.
Once booked, you deal directly with me throughout. I will arrive with the agreed equipment, establish the medical provision and integrate with event management, security or other operational teams where required.
If an incident occurs, my priority is safe assessment and treatment, appropriate documentation and escalation to emergency services when clinically necessary.

OnMedics is the trading name of Ryan Jones, an independent freelance medic providing professional medical cover across the UK.
I have worked in the emergency services sector since 2017, I began freelance medical practice in 2023 and established OnMedics in 2024 to offer organisers a more direct, flexible alternative to traditional agency-based provision.
My background combines clinical work with extensive emergency-service communications and control-room experience, giving me experience not only in patient care but also in incident coordination, radio communications, resource deployment and working calmly in fast-moving environments.
When you book OnMedics, you book me directly. There is no agency middleman, changing point of contact or uncertainty over which member of staff will arrive on the day.

I can support smaller events requiring a single independent medic as well as work alongside existing event, security or medical teams.
Payment and Deposits
Quotes are provided on a bespoke, all-inclusive basis according to the event requirements, risk, location, duration and travel involved. My quoted price normally includes my attendance, medical equipment, vehicle, mileage, travel, professional insurance and routine clinical documentation.
For short-notice bookings, higher-risk events or assignments requiring significant preparation or resource commitment, a 50% upfront payment may be required to secure the booking. The remaining balance and payment deadline will be confirmed with the quotation.
Any requirements that fall substantially outside the original event information will be discussed before additional costs are incurred.
FAQ
Are you just providing basic first aid?
No. I hold FREC 4 and ILS qualifications and attend with a comprehensive professional medical kit appropriate to my scope and the requirements of the event.
Do you provide your own equipment?
Yes. My standard provision includes my own medical equipment, AED, vehicle and other agreed resources.
Are travel and mileage included?
Normally yes. I prefer to provide a clear all-inclusive quotation rather than add routine travel charges afterwards.
Can you cover events at short notice?
Yes, subject to availability. Short-notice bookings may require a 50% upfront payment to secure the date.
Are you insured?
Yes. OnMedics holds £1 million Public Liability, £1 million Professional Indemnity and £1 million Medical Malpractice cover.
Can you work alongside security or an existing event team?
Yes. My background includes extensive emergency-service radio and control-room experience, and I am comfortable integrating with event management, security and other operational teams.
Do you cover the whole UK?
Yes. I am available for work throughout the UK, with the final quotation taking account of travel, location and event requirements.
