Overview

Experience the electrifying sounds of Morlaix, a Cornish rock band delivering powerful covers and original tracks inspired by 30 Seconds to Mars and Def Leppard.

Morlaix began in July 2009 when a group of 13-year-olds met at a rock music week and decided to pursue their passion. They started performing at small venues like schools and BBQs, eventually playing at pubs such as the Punchbowl And Ladle in Feock and The Office in Truro. In the summer of 2011, they opened the main stage at the Falmouth Week festival, sharing the stage with artists like Tinchy Stryder and The Wurzels. In early February, Sam Williams (Rhythm Guitar and Lead Vocalist) decided to part ways with the band. Following his departure, Mike Spenceley, formerly on Bass, took up Rhythm Guitar. Bass duties were passed to a good friend of the band, Sam Richards. A new vocalist has yet to be found. On the 9th of June, Last Avenue changed their name to Morlaix. On the 27th of June, Sam Bowden joined on bass. Morlaix have done some recording at Truro College; however, most of their tracks are from live gigs, as are the photos. They play with a variety of gear, including Gibson, Fender, Epiphone, Vox, Mapex, and Marshall. They support DeadNation and WeazleDust for some of their gigs.
